The Launch of the Phoenix App

You've made it!

If you have reached this blog on the Phoenix Gyms App Community Page, then you are already half way through the launch we have been talking about for weeks, months and at least a year now (maybe even longer).

The Phoenix App allows you to have full control of your membership, right at your fingertips. If you want to request a freeze, cancellation or view your payments, payment details or your personal details...you can...all from within this app.

To get into the gym currently, you will need to download the Kisi app. This is your digital key to get into the gym and out of it. Once you have downloaded the Kisi app and click the log in link you send to yourself via email. You don't need to open the app again. You can simply hold your locked phone up to the digital key readers on the doors and turnstiles and they will grant you access for where you need to go. One catch, you MUST have your location and Bluetooth turned on.

Why? The access control system uses geofencing, a fancy term for ensuring that people getting in and out of the gym are actually there using their digital key. The Bluetooth is for the reader to communicate directly with your device. The techy bit behind the scenes checks that you have an active membership, with no missed payments and an active direct debit mandate in place, as soon as it has given you ticks for all of these, it will give you the green light to walk through.

Eventually, the Kisi digital key is being integrated into the Phoenix App, this will mean that you will not need to have the Kisi app on your phone at some point - we'll let you know when this is the case. However, whilst we are moving everyone across to the new system, you will need to have the Kisi app on your phone.

We don't make decisions around changes to your experience within the gym lightly. But, this change is for the BETTER, just wait and see.
